In early April, a DDOT crew placed flexible bollards and planters across 36th Street where it intersects with Reno Road.
Goodbye to Reno Road’s northbound exit onto 36th Street. The small-scale speedway is being closed off, as cars leaving Reno Road often did so at non-residential street speeds.

The closure of the street segment between Reno Road and Warren Street may have seemed abrupt, but it was something neighbors had requested of DDOT and ANC 3F as far back as 2015. The commission passed a resolution in 2017, sent it off to DDOT, and that was the last we heard about it until last February, when Ward 3 Council member Matt Frumin linked to DDOT’s notice of intent in a constituent newsletter.
DDOT community engagement manager Christian Piñeiro will be at ANC 3F’s April 23rd meeting to discuss local projects, including the slip lane closure.
