Got unwanted electronics? Hearst School’s e-cycle (and more) is Nov. 7

Hearst’s e-cycle is back, bigger and better than ever.

Head over to Hearst Elementary (3950 37th Street NW, near Tilden) on Saturday, November 7th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a great community event. Drop off your unwanted electronics for recycling and your documents for shredding, plus swap or donate working electronics, kids’ and adults’ books, and bikes, cleats and sports equipment.

Plus: Shop at the rummage market, adopt a pet from the Washington Humane Society, grab a snack at the bake sale and play in the bounce house. For more information, see hearstes.org/ecycle_2015 or email hearstecycle@gmail.com.

Biggest bonuses:

You drive up and volunteers empty your car. Your job is to get the stuff into the car.

You get watch your hard drives get crushed – very cool!

You get to peer into the inner working of the shredder – magical!

Costs to you:

$20 for a TV

$10 per hard drive

 
I highly recommend this experience, and boy do you feel a good deal lighter – unless you load up with rummage sale purchases, get new pet or bring home a new bike. Maybe you shouldn’t get out of your car. But then you would miss so much fun!
