Saturday 2/9 in Van Ness: Free bulk trash collection, Goodwill donation drop-off and electronics recycling

Perhaps you’ve been swept up in the KonMari craze. Or you are looking for motivation to start decluttering. The Mayor’s Office of the Clean City and Department of Public Works will be in Van Ness this weekend to help.

Head to 4340 Connecticut Avenue between 12 and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9th for the Ward 3 “Roll-Off Day.” There, in the alley between 4340 and the Gold’s Gym, you’ll find a dumpster for unwanted bulk items. Unwanted clothing, household goods and other items can also find a new home – Goodwill is collecting donated items (here’s what they accept). And there will be electronics recycling, by Wisetek.

You’re welcome to bring stuff by the carload. Street parking will be reserved on that side of Connecticut Avenue. There will be folks to direct traffic and help you unload.

In addition, Van Ness Main Street, 311, and the Department of Energy and Environment will have representatives on hand to meet and chat with residents.
