A reader sends these photos of a vehicle crash at Connecticut Avenue and Albemarle Street, which happened at around 7:20 this morning:
“Two-car crash forced one car completely over curb up onto sidewalk, completely blocking sidewalk for pedestrians southbound on Connecticut on east side of Connecticut.”
The SUV also blocked one lane of northbound traffic on Connecticut and westbound traffic on Albemarle.

I saw the crash scene at 7:30 this morning and thankfully, saw no sign that anyone on foot or in these vehicles was visibly hurt. MPD and DC Fire and EMS Twitter feeds don’t mention any injuries, or even the traffic disruption.
The rain-slicked road could have been a factor. Speed could have been a factor. In any case, drive with care when it rains – and in general. The speed limit is 30 mph on this stretch of Connecticut Avenue. No one should be going any faster than that. – Tracy Johnke
