The Van Ness streetscape is about to take a big step closer to becoming more vibrant and sustainable.
The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (TPB) has awarded the DC Office of Planning a Transportation Land Use Connections (TLC) grant to conduct preliminary engineering that will eventually help implement the conceptual streetscape designs produced in a previous TLC grant.
These designs include features that capture rainfall on site, reducing the volume of stormwater that enters Soapstone Valley.
Over the next four to eight weeks, the Office of Planning will be working with the TPB to determine the scope of work for this project. After this is complete, there will be another post detailing the project.
