Much as they did during the national “Hands Off” demonstration in April, and the “No Kings” march in June, neighbors are organizing a hyperlocal version of the second No Kings event on October 18th.

Many Forest Hills residents are feeling increasingly alarmed by multiple threats to our democracy. One of the ways we demonstrate the continued vibrancy of our First Amendment rights is to gather on our street corners holding protest signs and waving them at cars passing by. On Saturday, October 18, from 9:30 to 11:30 we will do just that on the corner of Veazey Terrace and Connecticut Avenue. All who read this are invited to join us, and bring friends!
Our Cleveland Park neighbors have been invited to form a line going northward to meet us halfway. Imagine a line of folks stretching out to Chevy Chase peacefully protesting and asserting our right to do so!
