Meet the ANC 3F candidates: Manolis Priniotakis, 3F01

Mailed DC ballots will be arriving soon, so this week we’re telling you about some of the names you might see on the second page, depending on where you live.

The District has 46 advisory neighborhood commissions divided into 345 single-member districts, and each of those SMDs is represented by one elected commissioner. The ANC for the Van Ness, North Cleveland Park and Forest Hills areas is 3F. It has six SMDs.

Forest Hills Connection has asked all of the ANC 3F candidates – those on the ballot and potential write-ins – to tell us about themselves and why they are running.

ANC 3F01

Manolis Priniotakis is the only candidate who filed the ballot paperwork for ANC 3F01, so if you’ll see his name on your ballot if you live here:

Here is his statement:

I’m running for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Single Member District 3F01 to serve our community, support its residents, and help make our neighborhood safer, stronger, and even more connected.

I have been a resident of the District of Columbia since 2003, after first moving here for college from 1992 to 1996. I have proudly called ANC 3F home since 2006 and appreciate the sense of community that makes our neighborhood such a wonderful place to live.

I served as Commissioner for ANC 3F05 from 2013 to 2015 and understand the important role the ANCs play in the lives of D.C. residents and the functioning of the District. During my time on the ANC, I championed traffic and pedestrian safety initiatives, championed environmental concerns, reformed the ANC grant process, and worked to support the businesses along Connecticut Avenue, as well as successfully advocated for renovations at Murch Elementary. I have been active in our community through service on the boards of the Murch Home and School Association and the Friends of Forest Hills Playground.

Professionally, I spent more than 20 years as a public servant with the federal government, supporting our nation’s security before retiring to transition to the private sector in 2025. Throughout my career, I demonstrated that effective public service is built on listening carefully, collaborative problem-solving, and making thoughtful decisions, informed by the perspectives of those with stakes in the issues.

I’m running for ANC again because I believe our neighborhood benefits from accessible and responsive representation. If elected, I will work to address residents’ concerns, advocate for safer streets, support our local schools and businesses, and help ensure ANC 3F01 (and ANC 3F more broadly) remains a great place to live for everyone.
