ANC 3F June 20 agenda: New website, Soapstone sewer progress report, DDOT Stormwater Retrofit Project

ANC 3F’s website at anc3f.com was inaccessible for much of the past month, but they’re working on it. A placeholder page went up recently with information on the commission’s June 20th virtual meeting, and at the meeting, the commissioners will vote on some expenditures related to getting and keeping a website up and running.

DDOT’s Broad Branch and Spring Valley Stormwater Retrofit Project: This is a stormwater management and green infrastructure project in the Broad Branch (Rock Creek) and Spring Valley (Potomac River) watersheds. And this is the Broad Branch project area:

DC Water returns with the latest on the Soapstone sewer rehabilitation project. On June 14th, in an email update, the agency said that stream restoration work at Site #1 (the work site closest to Connecticut Avenue) was substantially complete. “Customers will notice a major reduction in noise stemming from boulder delivery and hauling,” the email said.

The sewer pipe relining work is likely to resume in mid-July. Preparations include dismantling the sewage bypass used during the first segment’s cured-in-place pipe installation, and reassembling the system in the next location.
